Nobody Beats the Drum - Grindin'.
Director: Rogier van der Zwaag
Music: Grindin' by Nobody Beats The Drum.
Nobody beats the drum is a stop motion animation video, this is where numerous photos are taken and strung together and in a video to make a sequence.
The video shows many different brightly coloured blocks merging together in time with the music, almost like dancing.
The black background contrasts the brightley coloured blocks making them stand out and become more visible. The animation is done very well because the music fits in with the speed and colour changes perfectly. because it is quite a fast song there is quite alot going on in the video, I found this quite hypnotising. I felt sucked in and curious about what the next move would be.
This video was made with stop motion animation (pixilation) using many different sized and coloured blocks. The maker of the production only focused on a small corner of the video and then later mirrored it using editing techniques. To create the movement of the blocks he would set the blocks up in the position he wanted, take a picture, move it very slightly and take another and so on. This is a very time consuming project and over all 4085 were taken.
